Baby C's birth through my lens.
I arrived at their home about 1:40 am September the 1st. Daddy let me in, mom was upstairs about to get in a warm bath to help with pain.
The birthing tub was in their bedroom but.....when the midwife arrived she said, "no time for that, we have to deliver now, on the bed." She was so calm, controlled and soft spoken. Within just a few minutes it was time to start pushing. Carolyn really expected a longer deliver process since her other two children took their time. But not baby C, he had a mind of his own. :)
Really, their are no words that can express the excitement welling up in me to be able to experience such an intimate moment. There were for sure several times that I had to pull away from my camera due to the fog coming from my tears and sweat. Mom quickly became my new hero! Completley natural.....she was sooo brave. Dad was very gentle with her and did not leave her side.

Notice the time on the clock to the left of the photo and remember when I arrived!?

and before long.....we were greated with this lovely and perfect little boy!! Wow....i tear up just posting this. What an incredible and amazing miracle....

seriously baby C.....your parents were full of complete joy when they first saw you...

something I did not mention earlier is that the oldest sister kept sticking her head out of her bedroom door during the labor. Mom and dad put her in charge of keeping the dog calm and quiet. But when she heard the baby's cry....she was immediatly in the room. She had tears and laughter....it was very sweet.

words cannot express how much i adore this photo.....when people say that photos can speak a 1,000 words....well here you go.... :) Her hands, her hair she was so beautiful.

precious.....

weighing in at 7lbs 13oz and 22 inches long....

This is mom calling HER daddy to tell him about the arrival of the baby....

One of my favorite moments after the deliver was baby and mommy's bath. The precious midwife boiled a mixture of healing herbs downstairs and carried them up to prepare a relaxing bath for them. It was so cool. He was very peaceful....and oh my goodness...so gorgeous!

big sister got to wash his hair....

really??! Can it get any sweeter than this?

Enough time in your bday suit baby C....now time for dad to dress you.

love this....a moment to never forget. Notice the shawdow of dad's profile over in the right hand corner? ( oh and I have to mention....look at that amazing photo on the wall...one of my favorite photos from their wedding, captured by me of course! )

nice warm bath + milk drunk = complete satisfaction!

they woke up his other big sister so she could be a part....LOVE THIS!!
